The Area
The apartment is located 25 km from the coastal resort of Castiglione della Pescaia and the beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea, 25 km from the regional capital Grosseto, approximately 50 km from the world-famous thermal springs of Saturnia, and around 180 km from Florence. The Etruscan ruins of Vetulonia are just 15 km away, and the celebrated wine town of Scansano — home of Morellino di Scansano DOC — is only 30 km from your door.
The village enchants with its cobblestone alleys, ancient stone walls and iron lanterns — and rewards you every evening with one of the most breathtaking sunsets in all of Tuscany, with views stretching across vineyards and olive groves all the way to the Tyrrhenian Sea.
All around you lies the wild, unspoiled Maremma, where pine forests, hidden coves and rolling vineyards meet the sea. Along the coast, fine white quartz sand and turquoise water await at Cala Violina Beach, reachable only on foot or by bike through the Bandite di Scarlino reserve. Nearby, the medieval hilltop village of Castiglione della Pescaia rises above golden Blue Flag beaches, rocky coves and a working fishing harbor. A little further north, six kilometers of sand stretch along the beaches of Follonica, from the lively town lido to the wild, pine-backed free beaches near Torre Mozza, Colonia Marina and the Pineta di Levante. And for those who love two wheels, the red sandstone singletrack around Punta Ala and the mountain bike routes near Gavorrano offer some of Tuscany's most exciting trails, with sea views all the way to Elba.
